We always take the time to listen to your landscaping ideas, inspiration and plans. We ask questions to understand the look you’re trying to achieve and how you want to use the area once it’s complete. Only then do we provide our input. We appreciate its your home and our ideas need to compliment your style and budget.
We don’t just have one style. Our designs and our work are reflective of our client’s property and the outcomes they are trying to achieve.
Wherever we can, we help our clients work smarter. Just because we are the last trade in doesn’t mean we should be the last trade employed. When we are involved early, we can help you avoid costly ‘re-dos‘ or help save time and money by conducting preliminary works before access is lost.
If you are looking to add value to your home before you list or if you want to create a beautiful space you can enjoy now and into the future, Made By Mobbs can help you.
This is one of the questions we get asked most often.
And while every home and every client’s tastes are different there are a few key themes that are repeated.
Low maintenance. I’m yet to have a client ask for a high maintenance garden. Everyone wants a low maintenance garden.
Natives. Natives are making a big comeback.
Subtle colour is in, wild colours are still there.
So, how do you get a low maintenance garden. Your lawn is the number one high maintenance project in your garden. Now, I’m definitely not suggesting you rip up your lawn, but native wild flowers only need to be cut a few times a year and with a whipper snipper…think about it.
The other big time sink in gardens is with plants that require regular pruning to keep them thick and lush. Get rid of the hedge idea and plant using multiple levels.
I love our native floral and it is making a massive comeback for two key reasons. Firstly, once established, our natives are really drought tolerant.
And secondly, because they are great sources of pollen and nectar for our wild life. Instead of using introduced exotic plants, how about using native orchids and grasses to create movement, texture and subtle colour.
And finally, colour. We theme our gardens often to complement our client’s house. Green on green is always a good safe bet, but you also need to consider texture and the colour of the flowers. White flowers are another safe bet but orange and purple work and if married up with native grasses can look amazing.
Take inspiration and ideas from other gardens in your area. If someone in your area has something growing really well, chances are it will grow in your garden too.
